Juan José 'Pepe' Laici

My name is Juan José 'Pepe' LAICI.. I'm a bass player born in Argentina.
I live in Geneva-Switzerland ...In 1978 I've heard a bass player named Ralphe Armstrong who played with the last Mahavishnu Orchestra....
I've liked a lot this musician and I wanted to have the same bass he used...
It was a wonderful Gibson Ripper Fretless !!!
When leaving my country for ever... in 1980, I spent more than a week in New York USA on my way to Europe.
I've took advantage of it to buy a brand new Gibson Ripper fretless in the Rudy Pensa music Shop 48th street...
I've loved this bass, but at that time I mainly needed a fretted bass as, in the bands I played with since, I had to perform slapping.
I had to sell my Ripper in 1984 Because of some money problems, It was a sad moment !!!
More than 25 years later... I finally bought another Ripper.. This one is Black and.... It's terrific... Hope you like it
Best Regards... Pepe Laici
I send you the links so you can see all my basses...
